Shares of oil major Rosneft and real estate development company PIK have been added to the indexes tracked by MSCI Barra. As MSCI Barra said in a statement, the rebalanced index will take effect on November 30. Rosneft's weighting in the MSCI EM Index will be 0.63% and 0.34% for PIK. Rosneft has been named among the largest newcomers in the MSCI Emerging Markets along with Brazilian Itausa, South African Remgro, Chinese companies China Merchants Bank and China Coal Energy. Starting November 30 the MSCI World Index will track such companies as ConocoPhillips, Standard Chartered, Colgate-Palmolive and Schering-Plough. Earlier MSCI said Rosneft's shares, Sberbank's prefs and TMK's GDRs will be added to the MSCI Russia Standard Index by May 2008.
