Severstal-controlled Severstal-Resource has reached an agreement on the takeover of Irish mining group Celtic Resources through Centroferve, its subsidiary, Severstal's press service reported Friday. A press release specified that Severstal, which already owns 29.7% of Celtic and managed to make arrangements with Barrick Gold on the acquisition of another 6.6% stake, has raised its takeover bid from 2.70 pounds to 2.80 pounds per share. Gazprom's BoD chairman Alexey Miller held a working meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko in Moscow Thursday, the gas concern's PR department reported. "During the meeting the parties confirmed their commitment to fulfilling the terms of the agreement on gas supply and transit in 2007-2011 that was signed between Gazprom and Beltransgaz on December 31, 2006" – the press release said. The parties also discussed the Belarusian party's proposal for Gazprom to take part in investment projects executed in Belarus in the power utilities and mineral fertilizer industries.
